Corolla red, pink, or violet, spotted and streaked with yellow, white, or violet, incompletely closed by the inflated palate, sparsely puberulent or villous, the tube 13–17 mm long, the lobes 4–8 mm long, the lower 3 projecting forward initially, gradually recurving.
Stamens 4, in 2 pairs, included in corolla, not elongating at anthesis, staminode vestigial; filaments basally villous, enlarged toward apex.
Ovary superior, 2-carpellate, with as many cells; ovule placentation axile; style 10–13 mm long; stigma conical.
Fruit:
Capsules globose; symmetrical; 0.8–1 cm long; the cells markedly unequal; the larger one dehiscing much earlier than smaller one.
Seeds dark brown.
